– medium-sized passerine, slightly larger than a sparrow
\n– diurnal migrant<\/p>\n

– slightly larger than Common Chaffinch<\/a>
\n– long-tailed as typical for many buntings
\n– on migration rarely in large groups, usually solitary or up to 3-5 individuals
\n– sometimes large groups of 50 or more individuals at roosts or suitable feeding sites
\n– flight pattern differs markedly from Common Reed Bunting<\/a>, much straighter, quite confident
\n– yellow colouration of males can be helpful even at a distance
\n– in areas with Cirl Bunting<\/a> and especially Pine Bunting, ID of females is more difficult, even when calling<\/p>\n
