– flight call a distinct ‘full’ trill, unlike most other Calidris waders
– rather slow modulated call, slightly rising in frequency
– distinct rise in frequency even visible in rather poor recordings/spectrograms
– shape in spectrogram slightly reminiscent of Common Blackbird, but faster modulations
– possibly differences between both subspecies, as shown below (but might be just age related!)
– excitement call a short ‘plik’, not unlike Ortolan Bunting
