– diurnal migrant

– flight on migration fast, straight and confident, but near roosts sometimes slow with strangely hanging legs
– in Central Europe, large flocks have become rare, therefore usually alone or in small groups
– at good spots or on wintering grounds, however, sometimes enormous flocks of several hundred individuals can be encountered
– then dense and well-coordinated flocks, that can show fast flight manoeuvres
